MARTHA PATERSON POV
‘EDEN!’ Zelda screamed catching him before he hit the floor.
Screams mixed with gasps erupted from everywhere around us, Tyrone and their boys were by her side the next moment. Checking the little boy for his injury.
‘LEE!’ She shouted, silencing every last whisper that was heard. Lee was by her side in the next moment. ‘Who the fuck was it?’ She questioned calmly, but with a hint of danger. Almost like she’s desperately trying to rein the raging beast inside.
‘We don’t know yet.’ He answered looking down.
‘Find out, hunt them down, and bring them to me. I don’t care in what state they are as long as they’re breathing.’ She gritted glaring at the guards who were surrounding them, blocking them from the rest of the guests’ view. ‘They dared to target my boys which means they already expected to be headless by dawn. Let’s not disappoint them, shall we?’
I barely contained the gasp that was about to leave my mouth. I held onto Patricia’s hand tightly, we were in the other corner of the garden and thus the closest to them. Unlike the rest of the guests we could see and hear what was going on in the circle created by the guards.
‘We should leave before getting caught. You Don’t want to Cross these kinds of people!’ Patricia almost shouted at me, but I just shrugged.
‘She stood up for you, so she’s basically a part of our group now. We can’t just ignore what she’s going through especially when we can help them with something.’ I said before marching towards the small group.
‘Yes, Mrs Robert.’ All the guards agreed in unison to the previous order given to them.
‘Claus, call for the doctors. I want them in here in the next 20 minutes.’ Tyrone ordered before lifting Eden up to the mini infirmary.
I heard that Tyrone made sure all of his mansions have a mini infirmary in Case something like this happens. The Claus guy nodded his head. ‘The party is over, everyone!’ He dismissed still walking towards the mansion’s door.
‘Luca, call Brandon, tell him to help Lee finding those bastards. I want them before the day ends.’ This Tyrone was not the sweet loving husband and father everybody knew, but rather the once famous notorious vengeful Mafia leader.
It was no secret that Tyrone was involved in the mafia, but whether that rumour was a true fact or just a made up lie, nobody ever knew. Nobody except me, I know exactly what kind of life this couple leads.
‘Yes, sir.’ Luca bowed slightly, it was obvious he sensed the change in Tyrone’s stance and behaviour.
‘And strengthen the security around the mansion, anything like this happens again and I’ll have your heads. Each one of you!’ He stopped for awhile, looking at the guards that are still surrounding us, making sure they knew he was talking with each and everyone of them.
‘Right on it, sir.’ Luca said, and the others nodded eagerly.
The couple then resumed their walk to the mansion, that’s when I called from behind them. ‘Elize!’ She looked back at me.
‘Yes?’
‘I think I know.’ I said.
She frowned. ‘Excuse me?’
‘I think I know who’s responsible.’ I clarified.
She narrowed her eyes at me. ‘Look, Mary - Lara or whatever your name is, I don’t have time for this. You better go back to your family before you get yourself in trouble.’ Her tone came out harsher than I expected it. She was about to walk away from me when I spoke again.
‘You don’t need to be rude, you know I just want to help you. The name is Martha by the way.’ I corrected, frowning myself.
‘I’m sorry if it came out that way, but I have more urgent issues to attend to. So if you’ll excuse me.’ She apologised.
‘Was it Mason? Anyway that’s the one you’re looking for.’ I informed.
Her head snapped in my direction in a speed like none before, then all of a sudden she laughed a sinister cold laugh that sent cold shivers down my entire body. ‘How?’ She asked after awhile.
‘I heard him talking on the phone with somebody about a plan that has failed, so I put two and two together.’ I replied.
‘Before or after?’ Her questions were simple and clear, but her tone demanded answers.
‘Right before the attack.’
‘You mean the pussy has finally decided to man up and stop hiding behind that whore of his?’ She chuckled, ‘Let’s show them then how a Monster looks like when awaken, come with me, dear.’ She commanded with a strange glint in her eyes, one that screamed warnings of the upcoming storms of danger that were brewing in the air.
I walked beside her towards their mansion’s door, oddly enough I wasn’t scared of her. I wasn’t on guard with her despite the danger sirens that were ringing in my head. She did look dangerous despite the large bump that was quite obvious, but it only made me admire her more. How can a woman be so beautiful, compassionate, yet lethal at the same time.
It may sound weird, psychotic even but she’s been my role model since ever I got to know about her. How she became the person she is now, she’s everything a woman should be.
‘Tyrone, how is he?’ Elize asked a bloody Tyrone, putting her hand on the little boy’s forehead.
‘He’s holding up. I took the bullet out, now I just have to stop the bleeding until the doctors come.’ He informed.
‘Was it that bad?’
‘Luckily it didn’t hit any fatal points, but he’s gonna be on bed rest for quite sometime after the operation.’
Elize sighed sadly. ‘He shouldn’t have been there in the first place!’ A tear slipped her eye.
‘If he wasn’t, one of the other boys would have been hit, the damage would still be made. It was unavoidable.’ Tyrone comforted.
‘No, it was easily avoidable if those fuckers did their jobs instead of slacking off.’ She disagreed. ‘I thought I arranged the security details well enough to ensure their safety.’ She mumbled guiltily.
‘Don’t you think for a second that any of this is your fault.’ Tyrone said sternly. ‘You couldn’t do anything to prevent it, but I promise I’ll give whomever is responsible of this a taste of their own medicine.’ She hugged him closely for sometime before caressing the boy’s soft cheeks.
‘My poor boy.’ She said lovingly. ‘I promise they’ll pay severely.’ She kissed both of his cheeks and forehead, then Tyrone spoke.
Who’s this?’ He finally noticed me.
‘This is Martha, she said she heard the bastard Mason, speaking to someone about a certain plan, and she thinks it might have something to do with the attack that happened a while ago.’ She introduced.
‘That just changed the whole equation, don’t you think darling?’ Tyrone smirked evilly, looking down at a smiling Elize.
‘Indeed, it does, hubby.’ she confirmed.
Those two are scarily matching, they look like a pair made in hell. Both mischievously dangerous, lethal, a force to reckon with, yet extremely passionate about their family.
What made me respect them more was their care for the boy laying in his own blood despite not being related to them in anyway. They treat him like one their own.
They’re worthy of the respect they’re given by each and everyone in our society, and I’ll make sure tonight’s incidents doesn’t change it whatsoever.
