WEIGHTED 49

UNKNOWN POV

That bitch thinks she can outsmart me that easily! Well, she’ll be getting something else coming her way.

I still have an advantage that will help me to stay a step or two ahead of her. She doesn’t know who I am, she doesn’t know anything about me.

She was able to get to those stupid fuckers I sent and trusted as my envoys to deliver my message because they’re dumb and cowards.

They’re a disgrace to humanity!

My phone vibrated in my hand. ‘What new disaster are you gonna drop on me this time?’ I almost shouted at the person, seeing they never call unless a disaster is to be announced.

‘She knows!’ Their reaction was the same to mine if not fiercer and angrier.

‘WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?’ I know I shouldn’t have yelled like that, because they will sure as hell show me why I shouldn’t have when they come home. However my anger and frustration got the best of me, all of these problems at once deluded my rationality.

‘I dare you to use that tone with me again!’ They whisper - hissed in a rage full tone.

‘I apologise.’ I caved in like always.

One of the reasons of my loathing towards Elize, the wench got everything I ever dreamed of!

No amount of kindness and geniality she was endowed with could pacify the burning desire that I possess of harming her, of seeing her crumbling. Call it selfishness, greed or ungratefulness.

I don’t care!

That bitch has got to fall! I’ll make sure of it.

‘Make sure you don’t utter my name when she gets to you or you know what will happen.’ Said the same cold voice I’m so very much accustomed to.

I wasn’t surprised that they didn’t care about me or that I would most probably be tortured and killed when that wench gets her hands on me, they were and still are as selfish as they come. They cared only about themselves, the rest were nothing but mere sheep that shield them from any harm.

Nothing but chess pieces they move as they please.

‘Yes, hanim.’ Replied my meek and loathsome submissive self.

The swine just hung up on me like that, like I’m a fucking servant if not lower.

I smashed the phone on the wall, wishing it was the head of the person I was just talking to. ‘DANA!’

‘Yes, sister?’ She said walking in the room.

‘Why do you think our worst of enemies knows my identity that I was so sure of keeping hidden?’ I asked my little sister as calm as I could, hoping and praying that what I’m thinking isn’t true.

I loved her too much to handle a betrayal from her.

I did everything for her, I allowed myself to be treated less than an animal for her to have a chance in a bright life. One that was much more brighter than mine.

She said she wanted to get back to her family, to her Ethan, and I would be damned if I let a fucking arrogant heartless bitch to snatch that from her.

She was one of the main reasons I couldn’t love Elize and treat her with the kindness she treated me with, because I would always be reminded that she snatched my little sister’s life away in a blink of an eye. She thought her beauty and elegance would get her out of every situation, that it would get her everything she wanted.

Well, one thing for certain she’s never getting away from my wrath and vengeance that I planned to unleash on her the moment she decided to bat her fucking eyelashes to steal my brother - in - law and nephew.

‘What do you mean?’ Dana asked.

‘Isn’t it obvious, Elize knows about me!’ I exclaimed angrily and honestly agitated by her dumbass. No matter how much I love her, her cluelessness was just too much to bear.

‘So you think I’m joining with her to harm you? My own sister?’ She asked in disbelief, tears ready to flow down her cheeks.

‘Are you?’ I decided to ignore them until I get my answer.

‘NEVER!’ She shouted through tears.

That was all I needed.

I nodded as a response to her outburst, and threw her a duffle bag.

She caught it and looked at me weirdly, silently questioning my action.

‘AJ will drive you to the boat I hired to take you to Paternoster, back to Dad. That money will help you if any unwanted situation arises.’ I stated calmly, then motioned to the bag in her hands with my chin.

‘Wwwhat is that supposed to mean?’ She looked horrified by my decision.

‘I promised dad I won’t let any harm reach you, I already failed to keep that promise twice. I’m not planning to fail thrice.’ I explained in the same calm tone I used earlier.

Arms still crossed, a habit I picked on since early age whenever I’m about to face a crisis. However I didn’t want to worry my little sister, she was and always will be the only thing that drives me to wake each morning.

If she wasn’t there, if I didn’t know I would be leaving her alone to fend for herself and to be treated the same way I was and still being - treated, I would have given up on this shithole called life.

She was the reason I rose, and for her I’ll be glad to take the Fall.

Dad taught us from a very young age to never discard family for anything else. No matter how big and tempting that is.

That’s why I chose her over Elize. I chose to believe in her words over what my eyes were trying to fool me with, what Elize was trying to fool me with.

Appearances. I believed my sister over some appearances I knew were ever so fooling.

‘I can’t do that! What about you? You know she’ll most definitely do just what she did to me if not worse..’

‘You will do as I say.’ I cut her blabbing with a stern look. ‘Remember what father said.’ I reminded when her mouth opened to speak another complaint.

She hung her head low in defeat before nodding.

I smiled affectionately at her pouting face.

‘What about, um…’ she stopped mid - sentence, not knowing what to address them as.

‘What do you think?’ I asked rhetorically. ‘They put me in charge of everything for a reason.’ I said.

They knew how intelligent and ruthless Elize was, it was a lethal combination to be messed with. They knew she would catch them sooner rather than later so they made sure I was in charge of everything so that all of the traces Elize and her group finds leads straight to me.

Despite our extreme hatred towards her, we could never deny how smart and quick witted she is. Everybody acknowledged that fact.

‘I’m sorry I got caught before I could fulfil my promise to you.’ I said referring to getting her family back to her.

She looked at me briefly before she diverted her gaze away and I could swear I saw a hint of guilt in her eyes but I dismissed it as quickly as it as it came, thinking that it was because of how she felt for being forced to leave me at the mercy of our cold-hearted enemy.

‘About that…’

My phone cut her off before she got to finish her sentence.

I fished it out to look at the message I got, I then looked at Dana before dismissing her.

‘You can go and start preparing for the trip.’ I said before returning my gaze to the message that got my skin crawling with fear.

I know there won’t be any chase at all for it to begin because I’m too proud to hide. Which leaves me with one option, and that is to fight with all my might or whatever power I possess.

Even if I know it would be a waste of time and effort since there’s misbalance in powers.

It’s a losing battle.

‘LET THE CHASE BEGIN.’ Read the message.

Well, at least I got to save my little sister.
