Luke had just crawled into bed when his door opened and she walked in, dropping her robe she gets in next to him. ‘Just what the hell do you think you’re doing?’ he hissed, he couldn’t believe the nerve of her.
‘Sleeping with my husband,’ she said and climbed on top of him. ‘It’s our wedding night.’ She looked down at him, her hair falling around her face.
Her scent was alluring, her body through the flimsy material of her short nightgown felt warm against his skin. He looked into her eyes, his hand going to her neck, his arm around her he flipped her over onto her back where he now rested on top of her. He lingered for a moment before jumping out of bed, dragging her with him.
‘How many times do I have to tell you we aren’t going to sleep together? Now get out!’
Dorothy rubbed her arms and shivered, tears filled her eyes. Fake ones. ‘But it’s cold in my room. It’s so much warmer in here.’
‘You’re cold?’ he asked and when she nodded he pulled the blanket off his bed and tossed it at her. ‘Here, this will keep you warm.’ He knew her tears were fake.
‘You heartless bastard,’ she cursed. ‘I bet Keenan wouldn’t mind warming me up.’
Luke grabbed her arm, his face so close to her. ‘You leave him alone, he’s too nice a guy for the likes of you.’
‘What do you mean for the likes of me?’
‘You’re spoiled and I think you enjoy using and hurting men. Keenan is my best friend and I won’t let you hurt him. Just so you know he’s a good guy and will not touch you as long as we’re married. Now get out, I can’t stand to look at you another minute.’
Turning she fled the room, this time her tears were real. His words stung, making her feel bad about herself. She knew he really didn’t like her, but she was still determined to get him into bed. She would have to come up with a plan, and soon.
He was gone by the time she woke up the next morning so she dressed and checked out the rest of the house. There was a third bedroom, a smaller one but it was empty. Another living room with a large TV and stereo, two large sofas and a chair. Sitting down she smiled to herself. She liked this room, it was much nicer than the other one so she decided it would be hers. He could have the other one to himself. Going outside she walked along the porch which went all around to the back of the house. Closing her eyes she took a deep breath. The air was so clean and fresh and when she opened her eyes she took in the view, it was breath-taking. If it weren’t for the fact she didn’t have proper footwear she would have explored the grounds.
When Luke returned home later that day she asked if he’d take her shopping. He agreed so after showering they drove to town. For a small town, they had a decent clothing store and she was able to find some jeans and shirts, she also picked out two pairs of boots. Handing the salesperson her credit card was shocked to find it had been cancelled.
Turning to Luke, her eyes wide with disbelief. ‘My father must have cancelled them, the son of a bitch.’
He actually felt sorry for her at that moment. ‘I’ll pay for it,’ he said and pulled out his wallet.
He stopped and looked at the sales clerk when he heard how much it cost. ‘There must be some mistake, surely it can’t cost that much.’
‘It’s the necklace, Sir, it’s over five - hundred rands.’
‘What necklace?’ he asked looking from Dorothy to the clerk. When he was shown the piece of jewellery he stared at Dorothy. ‘No fucken way I’m paying for that.’
‘But I want it,’ she whined.
‘Tough,’ he replied and turning to the lady behind the counter told her to put it back. It was a Gold Heart with a diamond in the center. Dorothy did not take it well, cussing she stomped out of the store leaving Luke to carry the bags. He came out and walked over to the van where she was standing with her arms crossed.
Tossing the bags in the back seat he confronted her. ‘Let’s get one thing straight. I don’t have a lot of money so you’ll have to curb your expensive spending habit. Or get a job and then you can buy whatever you want.’
‘What kind of work can I get in this one horse town?’ she asked sarcastically.
He didn’t bother to answer, the way he figured it she had probably never worked a day in her life. ‘Let’s grab a bite to eat.’ He then led her to the town’s only bar and taking a seat they ordered some food. He ordered a beer for him and since she didn’t drink alcohol she was served a soda.
When they were done eating and he was getting ready to pay a couple walked up to their table. A man in his thirties and a woman who appeared to be his wife. ‘Hey Luke, we haven’t seen you in a while. What have you been up to?’ the woman asked.
‘Who’s the lovely lady with you?’ the man asked.
Before Luke could get out a word Dorothy put her hand on his arm. ‘Hi, I’m Dorothy, Luke’s wife.’
She smirked when he turned his head sharply to stare at her, anger flashed across his face.
The couple stared wide - eyed at her. ‘Wife.’ They both spoke at the same time. ‘I didn’t know you were seeing anyone,’ the man said, looking at Luke.
Dorothy let out a small laugh, her hand still on his arm, showing off the wedding band that she was supposed to keep hidden.
‘We’ve only been married two days, it was kind of sudden. Wasn’t it sweetheart?’ she said she smiled at Luke.
He cleared his throat, shrugging off her hand. ‘Hi Erin, Carol. Meet Dorothy, my wife.’ he almost choked on the words.
The couple sat down and Dorothy was introduced to them. ‘Well, now we have to have a party to celebrate your marriage.’
Luke shook his head in protest.
‘No, no mercy. We want to keep this low-key.’ His eyes locked on Dorothy’s, sending her a sign that he was more than a little furious with her and got a cynical smile in return.
Dorothy ran her finger along his arm. ‘I think a party would be a wonderful idea, that way I’ll get to meet all your friends and neighbours.’ She turned to the Huston’s. ‘We’ll have it at our home, say this coming Friday night. Would you be a dear and spread the word around?’
Carol clapped her hands together in excitement. ‘Oh yes, I’d love to. You leave it all up to me dear,’ she said to Dorothy. I love organizing parties. Around here we all chip in so you won’t have to do a thing leave the food to us.’
The couple stood up to leave.
‘It was nice meeting you dear and the others will be thrilled getting to know you,’ Erin said before he and his wife walked away.
Luke waited till they were in the van and alone before he unleashed his anger. ‘What the fuck are you playing at? I thought we agreed to tell people that you were just a friend staying with me for a while. You have now complicated my life. Jesus, when this gets out it’ll have a lot of explaining to do. I ought to strangle that pretty little neck of yours.’ Yelling he slammed his fist on the steering wheel.
‘Putting her fingernail to her lips smiled shyly. ‘You think I have a pretty neck?’
‘What?’ he asked, looking at her he growled. ‘God, you are unbelievable.’
‘Chill out Luke. Did you really think no one would question why I’m with you for a year? At least this way there won’t be a lot of unnecessary questions and speculation. Then when the year is up and I’m gone they’ll figure the marriage didn’t work out. Besides, I’m already bored and a party will be fun.’
A scowl appeared on his face when he glanced at her. ‘I’m sure where you come from that’s all you did. Life here in the country and especially on a ranch is hard work, we don’t have time to party, too damn busy trying to make a living.’
‘Tsk, Tsk. So bitter for one so young. I think a party would do you a world of good, maybe loosen you up a little. Don’t you like having fun?’
‘I like having fun,’ he said sulkily.
Undoing her seatbelt she got on her knees and leaned over into the back seat and grabbed the one bag that held a pair of flat shoes. A smile curled on his lips when he glanced over, seeing her ass sticking up in the air. She had a nice ass and her dress rose up giving him an eyeful. His eyes kept wandering over her as she removed her heels and put the flats on.
‘This feels better already,’ she said out loud.
‘What I don’t understand is why didn’t you bring some decent footwear with you, you knew where you were coming to.’
‘I guess I just didn’t think about it.’ Lifting up her feet she inspected her new shoes. ‘Don’t you think these look good on me?’
Shaking his head turned his attention back to the road.
‘Why did you want that necklace? You have tons of jewellery, those earrings you’re wearing must have cost three times what the necklace cost.’
She started biting her fingernail. ‘I’m not sure, I just thought it was pretty.’
The rest of the drive home was in total silence. She took her bags up to her room while he tended to his horses.
It was dark when he walked into his house and headed upstairs to take a shower. He found Dorothy in his bathroom taking a bath with bubbles. She wasn’t at all embarrassed when he walked in, only smiled at him.
His eyes went to the top of her breasts which were barely covered by the mountain of bubbles she had in the tub.
‘What are you doing in here? We’ve talked about this,’ he said, his voice coming out choppy.
‘I wanted to soak in a tub but there isn’t one in the other bathroom. I didn’t think you would mind.’
‘Well I do mind,’ he barked.
‘Do you want me to get out?’
‘Yes,’ he replied.
‘Have it your way.’ Getting up while he still stood there stepped out of the tub butt naked and dripping wet she grabbed a towel, wrapping it around her. ‘The room is all yours now,’ she said as she walked passed him with a smirk on her face.
Luke felt as though he lost all movement in his legs. He never expected her to do what she did and he was frozen to the very spot where he stood. Her body was amazing, her breasts so firm and seeing the bubbles clinging to them he wanted to lick them off her. His eyes moved down and noticed she had not hair and his cock grew hard, her legs so long and shapely. God, she was making it hard for him to resist her. When she walked passed him he took in her scent, she smelled so good. He was in desperate need of a long, cold shower. How was he going to keep his distance from her a year, he had a feeling she wasn’t going to make it easy for him…..
