SINNERS - 16

Jack Vasilief

‘Those Bloody bastards, I will kill all of them,’ I screamed, my blood boiling to the point that all I felt is fire radiating throughout my skin.

‘Natalia is going to cross their grounds, most likely they are hiding her in Greece but then again they could just keep her in Russia since we wouldn’t assume that she is right under our noses,’ Enzio stressed, his exterior is slightly cracking. He craved to skin them alive just as I did, family is everything.

‘Send for Benjamin to return to Russia immediately and Joziah to join Natalia.’ I instructed, downing my whiskey before rubbing my temples.

The sound of Enzio’s footsteps nearing my desk filled the silence, his figure stopping at the edge. ‘They are already on it, she’s our sister too. Nothing will happen to her as long as we are alive,’ he assured.

The reflects in my eyes dispersed, fury glistening within my sapphires. The heat radiating throughout my body, burning my flesh from the inside.

‘Nothing will happen to her or I will burn all of them alive, their families. They dare take her from me, they don’t know what is coming now,’ a sinister laugh escaping my lips.

‘Should we inform Mr Ivan?’ Enzio questioned.

Valentina, the perfect picture of innocence. Moulded from holy water, she is the angel that tames my demon. Everyone knew the impact of her in their lives, she encourages even the darkest of creatures to be open to emotions. Her aura is alluring, calming as they soothe the stress aching within the muscles.

Somehow, she became the mother to everyone. Despite her age, her maturity spoke volumes. Her smile is genuine with everyone, warm and welcoming. Syrupy waves that cascaded upon her back, reaching her waist. It always bounced with her, eager to embrace the next person she encountered. What instantly made people gravitate to her is those pear coloured eyes that swirled with the coffee infused in them, it became slashes of colour that made her extremely enchanting. For me, they displayed the many years of turmoil.

It became magnetic that I almost didn’t want anyone to see her beauty, I couldn’t stand seeing those incredible combinations of colours be tainted in tears. My faults didn’t define my actions and I certainly would kill anyone who dare be the reason that her eyes don’t sparkle bright like it does every day.

That is why I couldn’t bring myself to believe the words that traitor said. She is the least demonic from all of us. Surely, she knew how to handle herself but her personality is that of nature. Which made this difficult, to even envision the harm they are inflicting. I vowed, those bastards will pay for taking the only good thing away from us.

That’s what many do not know, Valentina is loved by many, a little sister to all of us. That’s what they will underestimate, the gangs doesn’t feel anything unless it comes to Family.

F---ken better believe we will protect her and disperse destruction upon them.

The only one worse than my family is Ivan, he will not be pleased with this news. He is a man of not many words, he is the youngest ruler of his own gang. Which made him be seen as vulnerable but he is none of that, in fact he is even more menacing.

Valentina was there for him, the wall he keeps up has only been broken down by her. She is his sister just as much as she is mine, blood defined us and loyalty even more.

‘I will do it?’ I reassured.

Enzio nodded his head in agreement, before staring out of the window upon the glowing city. His reflection upon the tinted glass, twisted amongst those stone-cold eyes. The splashes of crimson brightly lighting up the shadows, the rage and worry that blanketed on them. It Didn’t matter his ability to block everything out for the time being but a friendship like ours made me realise that when he becomes the monster, is when he feels everything.

Enzio perceived emotions to be fickle, its one of the main sources of weakness that enemies will encounter. But with him, his past played a major role in the reason that he hides them. At this moment, everything is piling on him. Fear and hatred, those two emotions creeping onto his molecules and draining the life away.

Enzio continuously tapped his knee cap, staring into the abyss with full concentration.

‘You’re worried,’ I stated, staring at his poised posture.

His eyes didn’t bother to meet mine ’YES’ he flatly replied.

What do you feel? What are you supposed to feel?

All that flowed through me is exasperation, it became a drug to feel this power that jolted through me. Numbing the pain, blinding me from the true intentions. Taking Valentina, rehashed memories that is supposed to be buried.

Enzio is destruction, reigning chaos just from a single touch but that is because of his past. What do you expect from someone who became a monster at the age of 15, hating himself to finally embracing the dark side that resided within him. One of the main reasons we became brothers, not by blood but sure as hell by our bond.

He Didn’t speak as he stood up from the chair, running his fingers vigorously through his midnight shirt had the sleeves rolled up. Our frame is the same, height and in muscle. A large huff of air escaped his lungs, the restraint clearly evident out of his neck.

Enzio paced around the office, trying to piece the puzzles together. While I pulled out my phone to call Ivan. His line rang for five seconds before his thick Russian accent could be heard, sprouting out incoherent instructions.

‘Cousin, what is so important that you called me in the middle of my interrogation,’ he hummed, amused.

‘You mean your killing spree?’ I said, rolling my eyes at his equal bloodlust tendencies.

‘Cut out his tongue, I’m on the phone. Indeed, you did,’ he instructed.

‘They kidnapped Valentina,’ I replied.

‘YOU LEFT HER ALONE???’, he yelled, his animalistic growls filling the line.

‘Obviously I didn’t, but I don’t know how they got to her,’ I stressed, rubbing my temples from the realisation that her kidnapping is due to my lack of security around her.

‘She can handle it but she doesn’t deserve that and you know it,’ he scolded, his breathing becoming harder than usual.

‘Don’t you think I know that, she isn’t like us!’

‘Hopefully what Natalia taught her all those years ago will help,’ He added, making me remember those times I watched Valentina fall on her ass from the lack of skill.

A sad smile formed on my lips, ’I don’t want it to help, I want to find her.’

‘I’m on it, split it. Greece, Russia and ’Vengeance Town’, are the main bases so I will send them there now,’ he continued.

‘Kill all of them,’ I cut.

‘We always do,’ he reassured, cutting the call.

I knew, Ivan isn’t patient. His tolerance, well he had none. Compared to me, I am the most understanding. He slaughters and then asks questions later but I don’t hold any of his ballistic nature against him. That spoke nothing of his character, he is composed more than anyone I have ever met.

Playing the immaculate role of someone who lets their actions speak rather than words, a man of few words but lack nothing of actions. Finding out this news, it will send him on a rampage.

‘Done stressing the hell out,’ the devilish voice questioned.

I already knew of her crimson coral lips uprooting into a smirk, decadent cinnamon waves contouring her features and those sinister olive eyes that dazzled in my presence, holding an aura of secrets that begged to be unravelled.

‘What do you want Milady?’ I flatly questioned.

Her curvaceous figure plopped on the seat in front of me, which made me realise that Enzio left during my phone call. Scanning her devious state, although her wicked smirk gave nothing away. I knew she wanted something, ’Who did they take that has gotten you so stressed,’ she quizzed.

My mouth didn’t deem it necessary to explain the aspects of my personal life, a killing machine should not question their superiors and instead follow instructions without asking any.

‘Okay fine don’t tell me, but from the way you are acting I assume it’s either a fiance or family,’ she guessed.

Why couldn’t I find the words to deny her statement?

‘Who would have thought that the Big Bad Wolf had a heart.’ she teased.

‘Shut the F up before I permanently make you!’ I threatened.

‘Oh, Come on, the all mighty Vasilief that is a ruthless killer actually has a heart, this is hilarious,’ she laughed.

Something indescribable electrified my senses, blistering heat running through my bloodstream. The slow burn, that begged to be released as I pulled out my gun and aimed it at her forehead. ’You dare mock me again. I can take your little friend there in one second, don’t lecture me on emotions when you yourself can’t perform a job if something happens to her. You are weak and that will be your downfall, letting your emotions cloud your judgement.’

She smirked, licking her lips as she stared at me with those mischievous eyes, ’Isn’t that what you are doing?’ she taunted.

‘I am getting her back, without walking in blindsided,’ I informed.

Deny all you want, but your emotions are playing into effect,’ she announced, was she right?

‘YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY, I can put a bullet into your skull right now,’ I stated.

A smile graced her lips as she moved closer to the barrel of my gun, the metal laying upon her forehead, ’Then do it,’ she laughed…
